The SameSkin program will resume for 2014 on Saturday 1 February from 10am-12pm and Thursday 6 February from 1-3pm every week until the end of November at the Space in North Lakes.
Workshops will include acting, dance, music making, improvisation and stagecraft and will be run by our Artistic Director, Angela Witcher with contributions from a variety of talented and experienced artists.
These workshops are suitable for people aged 15+ with and without disabilities who want to learn new techniques, make friends and have fun creating theatre.
Classes cost just $15 for two hours and there are discounts if you pay for multiple sessions. If you need support or assistance during the workshop your support worker is welcome to accompany you and join in too.
We will be working at a fabulous new venue ‘The Space’ in the Corso, North Lakes, where we have use of the brand new black box theatre so it is a great opportunity to learn in a professional environment.
For more information call Angela on 0499 002 989.
InsideOutside’s SameSkin project is about to enter its third term and we would like to invite anyone who wants to come and have fun learning something new to try out our workshop for FREE on Saturday 20 July. If you are 13-99 come and give it a go – you might surprise yourself!
Our current members are aged from 13 to 50+ and many have physical or intellectual disabilities but they are working together as a company to create some truly exciting theatre. This year, they performed alongside professionals at our Variété show delivering a new piece of theatre based on the Macklemore hit ‘Wings’ and delivered a winning performance as roving characters from a Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Government House Open Day in June. In September we hope to perform at community event ‘Is Everybody Here’ in Caboolture and in December all our members will be part of our children’s Christmas show.
We have now moved to The Redcliffe Cultural Centre from 10am until 12.00pm. To sign up for a free session on 20 July just email your details to firstname.lastname@example.org or call 0415 070015 for more information.
